Millie Bobby Brown is back to detective work in Victorian England, and this time she has her hands full with another serious missing persons case! The Enola Holmes star, 18, is reprising her feminist role as the younger sister of the famous detective Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill) and Eudoria’s daughter (Helena Bonham Carter) in the next sequel Enola Holmes 2and so far it promises all the same costumes, actions, and likeability as the original.

As a background, Enola Holmes, (which marked the actress’ debut as a lead in a feature film) hit streaming giant Netflix in the midst of the global COVID-19 pandemic on September 23, 2020. Within days, it rose to the top of Netflix’s most streamed titles. . More interestingly, when the movie came out, Millie was already dominating Netflix – the hugely popular stranger things 3in which she played the role of Eleven, was number one among their most streamed films.

The success of the pandemic era of Enola Holmes cemented her rising career even further, and now, as a co-star of Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Godzilla vs. Kong, and of course, stranger things 4, it is safe to say that the girlfriend of Jake Bongiovi became one of Hollywood’s hottest actresses. Luckily, fans of the original adaptation won’t have to wait long to see Millie back in the career-building role. According to an August report in Weekly entertainmentthe film will be available to stream via Netflix on Friday, November 4, just before the holiday season (and on the weekends, for those who like to curl up with a good movie after a hard week at work.)

Returning cast and crew

Fans of another Netflix favorite, the witcher, will be delighted to learn that Henry Cavill will return as the young detective’s brother, and Helena Bonham-Carter will return as his mother. Also confirmed to return, per IMDbis Louis Partridge like Tewkesbury. New cast members reportedly include Sharon Duncan-Brewster, David Thewlis and Abbie Hernamong others. Harry Bradbeer (Flea Bag, Killing Eve) will return as director.

“We set the film in the hustle and bustle of London, which we didn’t really get to see as much in the first one,” Millie said of the film, per EO. “We really need to see what this young girl is doing in this crazy city that surrounds her night and day, and we explore these places in great detail.”

“I wanted this story to be grittier,” Harry added. “I wanted to introduce him to working-class girls in a working-class world. I wanted it to be a completely new world for Enola, so she was more out of her depth.

The film was written by the screenwriter Jack Thornewho also wrote the first Enola Holmes, So while the elements are fresh (and grittier), fans can expect a streamlined tone and, of course, visual appeal.

As the fastidious and incredibly intelligent, then 16-year-old continued an epic search for his mother in the first film (an adaptation of the first book in the series by Nancy Springer,) the second film shows the mature young woman branching out into a professional capacity.

According EO, the new “thriller” has Enola trying to open her own detective agency and break free from the overwhelming influence of her famous older brother. In this effort, she is hired by a young match factory worker to find her missing sister. Of course, as the corseted heroine embarks on the adventure, she finds herself drawn into a rather difficult situation.

In the title role, Millie has already proven to be the perfect fit for the prized character. And director Harry says the lonely character (Enola is “alone” spelled backwards) evolves with the actress. “She understands an adult story, but she also understands the instincts of a younger person, so all of those things are vital,” Bradbeer said, according to EO. “She’s very trusting to us when we’re crafting the story, and she’s giving her input as each draft comes in. That’s the most important thing: she has a tremendous instinct for who Enola is.
