“A big thank you” – Special message from Hardik Pandya to the ground staff in Nagpur after the 2nd T20I against Australia


Hardik Pandya showered the ground staff at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur with praise and gratitude after the 2nd T20I between India and Australia. It came on the heels of India’s four-wicket victory in a rain-shortened encounter that saw them level the series.

Go to Twitter, Panda expressed their gratitude to the ground staff for their efforts to get the game started. A patient crowd that filled the room to the rafters saw the Men In Blue do their part to seal an emphatic victory.

Skipper Rohit Sharma too reserved praise for the ground staff. Speaking after his team’s victory, he said:

“I heard they (the ground staff) have been here since 1:30 p.m. They’ve been preparing the outfield since then, so all the credit goes to all the management here. It’s not easy. were not easy. So many people came to watch the game, it was a full house, so it was a big effort for them to get a game started.”

Rohit and Axar gloating over India’s 4-wicket win in Nagpur

Although the weather was fine all day in Nagpur, rain on the eve of the contest resulted in a wet outfield, delaying the start of play. An eight-over contest eventually began as India put Australia at bat.

The visitors scored 90/5 in their overs quota thanks to another stunning run from Matthew Wade, who scored an unbeaten 20-ball 43. Axar Patel went around starting with the ball, taking Glenn Maxwell and Tim David to come back to within 2/13 of his two overs.

In response, it was Rohit who led the charge as the Men In Blue were still in control of the pursuit. Despite Adam Zampa’s three-wicket carry, the hosts secured a four-wicket win, with Rohit’s unbeaten 46 earning him the player of the match award.

The series now moves to Hyderabad for the decider on Sunday.
